Fee per Applicant  Total: HK$1,550.- (or HK$775.- only after VTC subsidy)^NEW

^   Qualified student can apply for a subsidy of HK$775(provided by the Vocational Training Council-Transport Logistics Training Board "VTC-TLTB") via HAFFA after the end of the module, provided that the student:

(1) Has passed the examination (passing mark: 50%);

(2) Has achieved an attendance of 80% or above; and

(3) Is currently employed in transport logistics company.

Please note that the subsidy is subject to the fund availability.

The application form for partial reimbursement and details will be sent to the student together with the student acceptance letter.

Assessment and Award

1.     Multiple-Choice Questions for Test and Examination.

2.     A Professional Module Certificate will be jointly issued by the CILTHK, HAFFA and LOGSCOUNCIL to students who have successfully passed the test and examination (passing mark: 50%) and achieved an attendance of 80% or above of each module.

3.     The certificate is widely recognized by senior management in the industry.

4.     HAFFA Committee Member Companies will give higher priority to any job seeker if he/she has obtained the certificate of VTP for Airfreight/Seafreight Sector.NEW

5.     This VTP module (Airfreight M1 + M2) is equivalent to the "IATA Cargo Skills and Procedures"under the HAFFA Training requirement to become a HAFFA Member. [Click here for details.]NEW

 

Lecturers and Medium of Instruction

Experienced instructors from the industry will conduct the lecture in Cantonese with English reading materials.

Good News! We are delighted to announce that IATA has officially recognized VTP Airfreight Module 1 and Module 2 training for accreditation and renewal purposes under its cargo agency program. That said, student can present the certificate of VTP Airfreight M1+M2 to IATA as one of the required training certificates for IATA Cargo Agent's accreditation or renewal.

Tentative Course Content (30 hours) - Airfreight Logistics Module 1 - Introduction to Airfreight

International Trade, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Airfreight Business (國際貿易、供應鏈與空運)

Ø   To understand major international trading countries/regions and opportunity in developing and emerging markets, South China Markets

Ø    To have a clear picture on development of airfreight, the growth in airfreight markets linked to Asia, especially China

Ø   Market environment related to air freight

Ø   Advantages and disadvantages of air freight

Ø   To give the internal and external factor which have made Hong Kong air cargo industry a success and constraints on growth

Ø   To better understand international trade flows, supply chain, quality management, privatization in airfreight, air cargo products

Principal Characteristics of Air Logistics (航運物流之基本特徵)

Ø   To understand the principal characteristic of air transport, their respective functions and relationship in the series of airfreight industry.

Ø   Including Airlines - Bilateral Commercial Policy, Consolidators, Logistics Services Provider, Freight forwarders, Integrator, Customs House Broker, Airport, Air Cargo Terminals, Ramp Handling, Warehouses and IATA Cargo Agent

Organization in relation to Air Logistics(關於空運物流之組織)

Ø   To know different international and local organizations in relation to airfreight / carrier that influence on air freight industry by rules and procedure, convention, standard practice, traffic etc

-     Including ICAO, IATA, FIATA, FAPAA, FAA, JAA, TSA and DHS, HAFFA, CLG, AAHK, Government Bodies, such as AFCD, CAD, C&ED, TTD, LOGSCOUNCIL

Airfreight Equipment, Airport Services Provider (CTO/RHO) (空運用設施及機場服務提供者)

Ø   To know aircraft characteristic, use the loading chats reproduced in section 8.2 of the TACT Rules and list the different type of ULD and their weight and volume restriction.

Ø   To describe the ramp equipments, cargo terminal equipments and warehouse equipments and/or facilities

Trading Process related to Airfreight Operations (關於空運貿易的處理程序)

Ø   To understand standard practice, the terms & documents in relation to airfreight

-  Including terms use in Air cargo, INCOM Terms, Banking Documents, LC, General Trading Terms, Contract and Agreement ?House Level, Import & Export document, Banking processing, General trading flow

E-commerce(電子貿易)

Ø   To understand the what is E-commerce and their relationship to airfreight that influence on air freight industry

-  Including Cargo 2000, ISAC, E-Manifest, E-Licence, e-RCL, e-Freight, IATA-CASS, AMS, ACI, DTTN, ROCARS, TREX/TCES, TTRS and Other Information platform related to the airfreight industries (e.g. FBX, PO Driven Platform)

Airfreight Procedures and Document(空運程序及文件)

Ø   To know what is cargo flow, physical flow and document flow.

Ø   To better understand what kinds of document are required in airfreight

Rate Application (價目應用)

Ø   To identity IATA areas and sub-areas and apply the through rates and charges base on IATA resolution to normal cargo shipments as published in The Air Cargo Tariff (TACT)

Ø   To describe the common market rate applicable in Hong Kong airfreight industry.

Ø   To understand the what is legal framework in airfreight, normal handling procedures and what documents are required

Cargo Damage and Claims(空運貨物之毀壞及賠償)

Ø   To enable the participant to understand the what is legal framework in airfreight, normal handling procedures and what documents are required

Introduction of Dangerous Goods (危險品簡介)

Ø   To give better understanding of DG awareness such as legal responsibilities, hidden & forbidden DG, 9 classes, packing & packaging, marking & labeling and emergency response.

Ø   To give General Philosophy of Dangerous Goods

Ø   Sharing the best practice in handling of specific DG items

Ø   Case sharing

Cargo Damage and Claims(空運貨物之毀壞及賠償)

Ø   To enable the participant to understand the what is legal framework in airfreight, normal handling procedures and what documents are required

Cargo Build-up & Storage (貨物裝板及儲存)

Ø   To explain role and responsibility of services provider who involved in build-up and storage of cargo

Ø   General and designated location for storage and cargo build-up

Ø   Exception handling for specific/special cargo (e.g. valuable and vulnerable cargo)

Ø   Case Sharing

Consolidation / Equalization(集運/平均集運箱)

Ø   To understand what is basic concept of Consolidation, Equalization, bulk consolidation and ULD consolidation. Advantage of Consolidation, Equalization.
