OUR COMPANY
Unaccompanied Baggage Limited (UBL) was established since 1978 with the aim of
providing an unique service to the traveling public at Hong Kong International Airport. For almost 30 years many air passengers have benefited from our UBL by sending their overweight/excess baggage to all destinations worldwide in a convenient, reliable and most importantly an economical way.
Before the establishment of UBL, passengers who wanted to forward their baggage as unaccompanied were themselves required to carry it to the airport cargo terminal, where the handling procedures are complicated and time-consuming that may result the passengers in delaying and missing their departing flights. In the interest of passengers, our parent company, Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Ltd (HAFFA) therefore set up a new facility ¡V unaccompanied baggage service at the airport. We are a non-profit making company and a subsidiary of HAFFA and profits of UBL will be contributed to HAFFA for the welfare of its members to facilitate the development of international trade.
UBL is famed for its very low price for sending passenger's overweight baggage. In average, unaccompanied baggage service charge is about TWO-THIRD CHEAPER than that of the airlines' excess rates. Passengers who carry too much baggage containing of personal effects would no doubt find UBL the best way to have their baggage send back home.
OUR SERVICE
- Despatch air passenger's excessive baggage to worldwide airports ONLY.
- Baggage will be forwarded as aircargo on space available basis and subject to delay.
- Baggage must be handed over to our airport office for process before passenger's departure.
- Passenger's passport and ticket must be presented for reference.
- To meet the aviation security requirement, baggage must be X-ray screened.
- All kinds of spray objects, knife-like objects, guns, paints, explosive items and incendiary devices are prohibited for transportation as unaccompanied baggage.
- Baggage will be charged by the actual weight or volume weight whichever is higher. The volume is computed as per following formula:
- Maximum weight of each single baggage is 50kg. Any single baggage exceeds 50kg will be charged two times of our current handling fees.
- On top of the IATA airfreight rates, a handling fee will be leived up for sending unaccompanied baggage.
- Payments can be settled by credit card or in cash.
- Our company or the airline concerned shall only be liable for the total loss of baggage.
- Service may be temporarily suspended during the period of Typhoon signal No.8 or higher is hoisted.
- Service hours: 9:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.
