CARRIER LIAISON GROUP – DANGEROUS GOODS WORKING GROUP (CLG – DGWG) 航空公司貨運聯絡小組 - 危險品工作小組

·    Perfume Shipment Proper Declaration 空運香水正確申報    on 06 Aug 2025

CLG-DGWG provided notification that perfume shipments are being intercepted because they were tendered without the necessary Dangerous Goods declarations and were instead declared as general cargo. If this trend continue it could pose a serious safety risk to the industry.

Please be reminded that perfume containing alcohol is classified as Dangerous Goods (not general cargo) due to its flammable nature. For clearer explanation, please refer to the Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR). Kindly reminded that freight forwarders need to declare perfume shipments properly according to IATA DGR. Additionally, screening parties, RACSF and CTO included, must accurately intercept undeclared DG items, particularly perfumes.  Below are some of the x-ray images available for your reference.
