FAQs: Enrollment Q1 How can I apply for the course? I) Fill in the Pre-Enrollment Online
Form II) An automatic email with your filled
enrollment form will be sent to you by email. III) Please send by post the printed
enrollment form together with a cheque made payable to "Hong Kong
Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Limited" (write down your
name and course code at the back of the cheque) to HAFFA.
Application will be treated on a
first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of payment before lesson. The date & time of receipt of the
application by the HAFFA Secretariat will be taken as the official date &
time of application. Please note that the Application is
subject to HAFFA's approval. HAFFA
reserves the right to reject any application in any circumstance and for
whatever reasons. Submission of the
enrollment form and cheque is NOT construed as acceptance of
admission. HAFFA reserves the right to cancel
any class or postpone any class if there is insufficient enrollment or other
unforeseeable difficulties hindering the organization of classes.
HAFFA reserves the right to change
the program contents, schedule, number of seats or venue at any time without
prior notice if it deems necessary. Those who would be affected by cancellation
will be entitled to a full refund or seat reservation for future courses. Q2 Can I reserve a seat for the course? Seat can be reserved for 1 week via
filling in the Pre-Enrollment Online Form. Q3 Can I pay in cash or cheque? Yes, you can pay in cash (except
for HK$1,000 notes), company cheque or personal cheque (only for individual
application). Official receipt will be
enclosed with the certificate. Q4 How do I know if I have successfully enrolled in the course? Letter of Acceptance with course
details will be sent out to you by EMAIL only either within
3 working days after the enrollment deadline,
or once the course is full before the enrollment deadline. Q5 What do I need to bring to class? You must
bring along your
Hong Kong Identity Card and the Letter of Acceptance. You may be denied entrance to the
classroom if you fail to bring your ID card and Letter of Acceptance OR if the
validity of your ID is in question.
You should also bring your own
writing stationery.
Cancellations/ Amendment/ Refunds Q6 Can I modify the content of my application form? An administration fee of HK$300.-
shall be charged for each amendment (except Change of Class and Cancellation) when the Acceptance Letter is
issued. No guarantee on any amendment could be made within 2 working days
before the start of the course. Q7 Can I change the class that I enrolled? Change of Classes received, after
application deadline and prior to the commencement of the course, is required
to provide also a written explanation to HAFFA for approval. HAFFA may in its
sole discretion to approve or not and without assigning any reason for its
decision. An administration fee of HK$300.- shall be charged for each
request. No guarantee on any change of
classes could be made within 2 working days before the start of the course. Q8 Can I cancel my application? No, you cannot cancel your
application after the Acceptance Letter is issued. No refund will be made in this case. Q9 Can I get a refund for not attending the course? No, after the commencement of the
course, no refund will be given.
During the Course / Exam Q10 What if I am late for the course or I will be absent for a session of the course? If you have to be absent or late
from any session of the course, you must inform the Secretariat by calling
HAFFA at tel:
27963121. Please note if your attendance
rate is less than 80% by lesson time, you may not be allowed to sit for the
Examination. Q11 What if I am late for the Examination? You must report to the invigilator
in the Examination centre in good time. No extra time for the Examination will be
given for those who come late. If you
are late for more than 15 minutes, you will not be allowed to take the
Examination. Q12 Will the Class be cancelled under extreme weather conditions? No training class will be held when
the typhoon signal No.8 or above / Black Storm Warning / "Extreme
Condition" is hoisted. Classes will be postponed until further notice.

Weather - Class arrangement) Q13 Can I take the Examination paper out of the Examination centre during or after the Examination? No, you are NOT permitted to take
the Examination paper(s) out of the Examination centre. Q14 Can I leave the Examination centre before the end of the Examination? You can only leave the Examination centre with the permission of the
invigilator. If you leave the Examination centre without permission before the end
of the Examination, you will NOT be permitted to re-enter the Examination centre and you will be totally
disqualified for the Examination. Q15 Can I talk to other candidate(s) during Examination? No, you must not speak or
communicate with any other candidate(s) during the Examination.
If you are found guilty of
dishonest conduct during the Examination, you will be instructed to leave the
Examination centre immediately and be totally
disqualified for the Examination.
Course Result Q16 When will I receive the result of my course? Notice of Result will be sent via
e-mail within
1 month. Q17 What if I fail the Examination? Can I ask for an appeal? If you fail the Examination, no
certificate will be issued. Re-exam
could be arranged one time within 1 month
except for some unforeseeable circumstances. Administration fee varied from different
co-organizers. If you fail the Re-exam, you
should register with HAFFA to arrange another Examination in the coming
available slot at a fee.
HAFFA’s
decision on the Examination results shall be final. Q18 How/When do I collect my certificate? You can collect the certificate
within 3
months from HAFFA office / co-organizer
office after receiving the email notification of the Notice of Pass. The exact
collection location shall be marked in the email. You need to collect the
certificate with the printed e-mail notification and company chop. Kindly note that HAFFA / co-organizer will
only keep the certificate for 3 months after the date of notification. After
such, the certificate will be declared void for security reasons without
notification in advance Q19 How long does my certificate last? The certificate lasts for 2
years.
Following HKCAD/IATA’s
requirements, you are required to renew the certificate by taking another
refresher examination every 24 months from the date of last examination /
training so as to keep DG / DGA knowledge up-to-date.
You may arrange your refresher
training within the final 3 months of the 24-month. It would be considered as
being completed on the expiry date of the 24-month period. E.g. a person who
completed a course on 30 November 2018 needs to complete a revalidation by 30
November 2020. However, the revalidation
may be taken between 1 September and 30 November 2020. The revalidation will be
considered being completed on 30 November 2020. The next revalidation date will
then be 30 November 2022. Q20 Can I apply for re-issuance of certificate? The original certificate will NOT
be re-issued under any circumstances. In case of loss, you may apply for
Certified True Copy of such certificate.
You are required to send a written
request to the HAFFA Secretariat with company chop and signature (individual
application: signature only) by email to training@haffa.com.hk.
Please indicate your name, course name, course date, course code and
declare loss of it. Request would only
be accepted within the expiry period of the certificate. If such certificate does not carry a
validation period, request would be accepted within 7 years from the completion
date.
A service charge of HK$300.- will
be imposed for request of re-issuance of certificate.
