In September 2023, the Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department launched the “Safe Community” program (「安全社區」計劃) in the freight and logistics industry, aiming to enhance the industry’s security awareness and strengthen its connection with the industry. The program’s slogan is “Accurate Pre-Declaration, Spot and Report” 「準確預報．見疑即報」, encouraging the industry to provide accurate cargo information and timely report any suspicious items that may be related to terrorism or violence, such as firearms and weapons. In light of this, the Customs organizes a FREE educational talk and visit to “Safe Community Hub” dedicated to Members on 14 December 2023 with details below.

The “Safe Community Hub” (The Hub) was run by the Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit (ICTU) and officially opened on 27 October 2023. The Hub, with an area of about 8,000 square feet, features the respective dedicated exhibition and interactive experience zones of the member departments of ICTU.  These interactive experiences include virtual reality (VR) / augmented reality (AR), motion detection, interactive hologram, and flight simulation, allowing participants to experience how to mitigate the risk of terrorist attacks and ensure personal and community safety.

Interested Members please make the online registration on or before 08 December 2023 (Friday). A confirmation email will be sent to your contact person on or after 11 December 2023 (Monday). As seats are limited, registration will be made on a first-come first-served basis.
