enthusiastic support, the seminar on “Strengthening Safe Carriage of Lithium
Battery Shipments Together”, co-organized by CLG (Carrier Liaison Group) and
HAFFA, was a resounding success! On 22 January 2024, we are honoured to
welcome almost 200 participants, with representatives from CAD (Civil Aviation
Department) and AAHK (Airport Authority Hong Kong) also gracing this event.
Throughout the seminar, industry
experts delved into the critical topic of lithium battery fire risks,
highlighting the paramount importance of prevention, detection, enhanced
screening protocols. Moreover, enhanced screening implementation
experience sharing with the potential use of AI technologies
to ensure the safe transport of lithium batteries was delivered by the
HAFFA Executive Committee Member Mr. Ryan Leung. The event concluded with insightful closing remarks
delivered by the HAFFA Chairman Mr. Gary Lau.
We hope that this
seminar can raise industry awareness about the safe carriage of lithium
batteries. Let’s continue to prioritize safety in our operations so as to
uphold Hong Kong as the Int’l Premier Logistics Hub.
